Conceptualized and organized first in 2012, the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India is organizing the India Water Week 2024 biannually. It is a 5-day conference and exhibition which is India’s international water resources event. Seven editions of events have been organized in 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2022. With the 2012 edition focusing on “Water, Energy and Food Security: Call for Solutions”; the 2013 edition focusing on “Efficient Water Management: Challenges and Opportunities”; the 2015 edition focusing on “Water Management for Sustainable Development”; the 2016 edition focusing on “Water for All: Striving Together”; the 2017 edition focusing on “Water and Energy for Inclusive Growth”; the 2019 edition focusing on “Water Cooperation– Coping with 21st Century Challenges”, the 2022 edition focusing on “Water Security for Sustainable Development with Equity”. The India Water Week has continued to focus on the inter-relatedness of water and life-systems over the years. focusing on equitable and sustainable development and importance of secure water to achieve that.
The Sixth edition of India Water Week-2019 with the Theme “Water Cooperation – Coping with 21st century challenges” was organized during 24th - 28th September, 2019 at New Delhi, India with Japan and European Union as International partners. Hon’ble President of India inaugurated 6th India Water Week-2019 on 24th September, 2019. The Conference was attended by more than 1500 national and international delegates. An exhibition covering an area of 3000 sqm with 60 exhibitors of various countries, institutions, individuals, State Governments, Non-Governmental Organisations and stakeholders working in the water resources sector showcasing their technologies as well as number of specialized add-on events were other highlights of the event.
7th India Water Week – 2022
The Seventh India Water Week-2022 will be held from 1-5 November, 2022 at India Expo Centre, Greater Noida, National Capital Region (NCR) of Delhi with the theme "Water Security for sustainable development with equity." The event is a multi disciplinary international conference focusing on new approaches for long term water planning and management by incorporating principles of sustainability and equity evolved over the years by National and International Water experts and Organisations, with a concurrently running exhibition enriching the theme and showcasing the technologies and solutions available for the areas under deliberation of the conference.

The 7th India Water Week (IWW) 2022 will be organized by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation in co-ordination with nodal Departments/Ministries of Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation; Agriculture; Environment, Forest and Climate Change; Rural Development; Urban Development; Power; New and Renewable Energy; Niti Aayog along with their associated expert organizations and Public Sector Units, key International Bodies, and Private and Public business houses.
Participation
The participation in the conference and exhibition is by paying fee as decided and published by the Organiser. Delegates/Exhibitors/Visitors who wish to attend the conference and exhibition can express interest through sign up/register online in the website which is free of cost. However, participation in the conference and exhibiting in the exhibition is subject to payment of fee, and visiting exhibition is free of cost for all.
